Genesis is a very unique aspect of University Christian Church. We believe
in the importance and power of prayer in our lives. "If my people, who are
called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn
from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their
sin and will heal their land" (2 Chronicles 7:14).
Genesis gives our entire church body the opportunity to tap in to the power of
prayer. Every Sunday evening from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm our sanctuary is
transformed into a haven of prayer. Natural lighting, soft music, and moving
images of worship on our video screen set a great mood to communicate with God.
Anyone who feels led may partake in communion offered each week.
From our web site and each Sunday morning our church body has the opportunity
to submit prayer requests for the weekly
prayer list. Those who attend Genesis receive these prayers with encouragement
to pray for each need. You cannot be early or late to Genesis. Simply come as
you are and take as long as you like. It is an informal atmosphere where
people may enter and leave as they please.
