Jesus said "Go into all the world and preach the good news to
all creation" (Mark 16:15). Our congregation and
leadership believe that we are to support those who undertake a mission, whether
it is in our home community of Norman, elsewhere in the United States, or even in
another country.
How can I get involved?
-
Pray for the people and mission groups listed below
-
Collect aluminum cans and deposit them in the UCC gym
-
Collect "Box Tops for Education," Campbell's soup labels and Best Choice brand labels for Cookson Hills and place them in the container on the missions board in the foyer.
-
Donate canned goods or money to the UCC food pantry
-
Consider joining a short-term missions trip
-

University Christian Church also supports
Dallas Christian College
through occasional gifts and sponsors a room at East Main Place in Norman, Oklahoma.
Please see additional missions resources.
We also follow the Lord's Word when He says, "For I was hungry and you gave me
something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a
stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was in
prison and you came to visit me..." (Matthew 25:35-36).
Taking Jesus' words to heart, we assist with benevolent requests to serve as a
resource for the basic necessities of life. More importantly, the mission of
benevolence allows us the opportunity to share the way to eternal life with
Jesus Christ: "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life."
(John 3:16).
If you have questions, comments, or would like to join the missions
committee, please contact Diane Fitzsimmons and Suzanne Jobe.
